Description:Pencil study of a villa behind a wall. The location is unknown, but the architecture and trees are Mediterranean. Wright's choice of a low viewpoint increases the feeling of privacy and seclusion of this walled villa. The insciption does not appear to match the numbering system adopted by Wright for his Italian studies, Indeed, it is not his hand and may have been added by a member of the Bemrose family. [LB: 2024]
