Description:Wright appears to have made his study from a cast of the Roman copy of the now lost Hellenistic sculpture, as revealed by the insciption that records his presence at the French Academy in Rome. The Roman copy was at the Capitoline Museums at the time of Wright's visit to Italy. Although Wright studied numerous sculptures at the Capitoline Museums, he seems not to have chosen to study this one. [LB: 2024]
