Drawing of a young woman seated at a mirror. She turns to face the viewer over her left shoulder and plays with a lock of her hair. Her clothing is loose and has fallen below her shoulders. A hair comb sits on the table in front of her. The mirror captures her reflection. On the verso is a pencil drawing of a man with a book. Made by Joseph Wright of Derby (1734 - 1797), c. 1750. Description:A pencil sketch of a girl at her dressing table with her reflection shown in the mirror. As this page has been removed from a small personal sketch book and the female is shown in an intimate pose, it could possibly be a study of one of the artist's sisters. Hannah Wright would have been aged around 19, and his younger sister Nancy 12 in 1750. Wright's account book shows he did later paint a 'Lady at her Toilet' now presumed lost. [Wallis, J.
