Drawing of a nude male figure, reclining, identified as the sculpture known as the 'Barberini Faun'. Inscribed on recto, to lower left (handwritten in ink): 'Rome / P. Barbarini [sic] / March 15th -1775' and to lower right (handwritten in ink): '4'. Sheet is heavily stained and lft and right sides have been cut down. Made by Joseph Wright (1734 - 1797), 1775. Pen and ink over pencil on cream laid paper. Displayed in a cream window mount.
