Mezzotint-engraving after Joseph Wright of Derby (1734-1797). 'A Farriers Shop' 1771. The view looking into the farrier's shop with 2 farrier's and a horse entering. The shop is a little derelict with a thatched roof and remains of a gothic arch. Horse shoes and tools scatter the walls and floor. Inscription: bottom left handside 'JW Pinxit', bottom centre 'Published Dec 2nd 1771', bottom right hand side 'W.Pether Fecit'. Made by William Pether (1738-1821). Mezzotint-engraving and etching.
