Description:Depicts a captive Amazon from the far left of a long low frieze on the side of the lid of a sarcophagus depicting a battle between Amazons and possibly Greeks. Capitoline 'Amazon Sarcophagus' (early C2nd A D). Sarcophagus theme is the Amazon invasion of Attica and shows fighting groups and captives. Last figure on left end of frieze, halberd and spears from behind figure omitted. One of two studies made by Wright of this sarcophagus: see also DBYMU 1914-517/52.
