Description:This is similar to three other drawings in the first Wright Archive (1996-1/11 and 1996-1/12), the souces of which have been identified as Raphael's capestry cartoon of the 'Death of Ananias'. This drawing comes from a related cartoon, 'Paul Preaching at Athens.' These cartoons are in the Royal Collection, and have been on loan to the V&A since 1865. Subject identified by Dr Paul Joannides of the University of Cambridge Department of History of Art in 1999.
