Medium: black and white chalks on buff paper.

Object Type:Drawing
Dimensions:Support: 236 × 181 mm (9 5/16 × 7 1/8 in.)
Description:Study of a Lamb for the Portrait of Frances Warren,c.1762-4 See Nicolson, cat.138, pl.48 Paper appears to be the same as that used for Wright's study of Charles de St-Evremond (DBYMU 1996-1/29). It is the same buff tone and is a little rough in areas, carrying 'inclusions' such as fibres. It is possible that the paper for these drawings was originally part of one sheet, cut down to create multiple sheets. [LB and ME: 2024]
