    Biography: Daughter of Thomas Gell of Gatehouse, Wirksworth, an apothcary. Married Francis Hurt on 17 August 1751. Their four surviving children were: Francis (became High Sheriff of Derbyshire in 1777 and married Elizabeth Shuttleworth), Charles (an industrialist who married Susannah Arkwright), Catherine (married Reverend George Holcombe), and Cassandra (married Philip Gell).
