Identified as a study of a sculpture of 'Dionysus with Panther' and a study of the head of 'Ganymede' from a cast of the Roman sculpture 'Ganymede and the Eagle', in The Uffizi (formerly in the Villa Medici, Rome). Inscribed on the recto, along the edge of the pedestal (handwritten in pencil): 'F - Academy April 20 - 74' and to top left (handwritten in ink): '200'. Made by Joseph Wright of Derby (1734 - 1797), 1774. Pencil on paper. Displayed in a cream window mount.
