Study of a woman in Van Dyck dress, head and torso only, facing slightly to the right, in a feigned oval; wearing a gown with slashed sleeves and lace cuffs, lace trim to the bodice, and bos to the sleeves and bodice front. Her hair is tied back and she wears lace choker around her neck. Made by Joseph Wright of Derby (1734 - 1797). Black and white chalk on blue paper, in cream window mount.
